The Energy Assets Group embraces a number of operational companies that includes Energy Assets Networks, which is licensed as an IDNO, and Energy Assets Pipelines, which is licensed as an IGT. The IDNO and IGT both have access to a dedicated in-house legal department which provides a single point of contact for legal requirements relating to land rights to ensure all our customers receive the best possible service.
Energy Assets in-house legal department offers the legal services required to dispense with the necessity of employing external managing agents to manage the land rights process and in many cases the need to employ external lawyer. By doing this work the legal department aims to reduce waiting time, reduce legal spend for our customers and increase efficiency.
There are a number of advantages for our ICP's, UIP's and customers who are currently using or proposing to use our services?
Firstly, Energy Assets can offer a one stop shop whereby the whole utility infrastructure requirements of our clients can be accommodated.
Secondly, speed is imperative. As a lawyer working within a commercial environment I am very aware of the requirement to connect utility supplies quickly in line with customer expectations. It is a requirement of all Network Operators, independent or not, who are adopting the various new services, that before any connections can be authorised to take place we must complete the legal documentation process.
Finally, our legal team are committed to managing our clients legal work efficiently.
Our in-house legal team is working exclusively for Energy Assets customers meaning we don’t have to juggle other client workloads. We can significantly reduce time by commencing the legalities in a timely manner and increasing the projects’ overall efficiency.
My team demonstrated in recent months that 63% of projects were legally completed within 12 weeks from initial instruction from the ICP/UIP. This compared typically with 20% handled by managing agents.
This is a significant benefit to our clients.
We do not charge you for the legal services we provide. The only legal costs you incur are any that the landowner's lawyer may charge to approve our documentation or if it is necessary to take land rights in third party land which incur legal fees.
We are also able to provide assistance to ICP's and UIP's where DNO's or others require separate land rights which cannot be incorporated within our documentation. The team are always on hand to offer advice and assistance when it is required and will keep you regularly updated on legal progress as the project proceeds.
